Tree planting
As part of plant a tree year we donated a hundred tree whips to a local community park call Martin wells lake in Edlington, which used to be an old brick pond that had been left to run wild ,but a group of locals got together and formed the friends of Martin wells lake ,cleaned it up made it safe to walk round and stocked it with fish ,so now its become a local beauty spot .
We also donated a hundred whips to the Warmsworth comunity project for the local park .All the trees are now planted and hopefuly we will see them grow into a nice copice for our children to play in and on in future years .
2011 Photo Competion

1st Prize went to miss Green from the 40th Doncaster Guides

2nd Cud Prize went to the Cubs

- 3rd prize to St Mary’s Primary School
This is a competion we started in our area a few years ago in schools and youth groups up to the age of 11 .
We have found it to be very succesful with the youngsters and adults as well ,each year we select a theme and supply the disptosable cameras and set a closing date .
When we have all entry’s in we then start the judging ,the first round is done by the school or youth group and we select the winners from those sent in ..
Each group gets a camera with prepaid development ,at the end each group recieves a certificate for entering and the winners get a certificate and a small trophy to keep and the school or youth group get a larger trophy with their names on to keep for a year .
As we set the rules we as a club do not pick the over all winners this is usually done by a vistor or guest to the club on the day of judging ,this way we keep it totaly impartial as the judges do not know the groups involved…
