The club
Was chartered in 2003, the very first President was Lion Eileen Smith, there has been 6 more since then, this years (2010 – 2011) will be the clubs 8th president.
Over the last 7yrs, Holderness Lions has played a large part in the communities of the local villages.
Hedon Christmas Lights switch on, Sproatley Christmas Lights switch on, Equipment bought for Hedon Youth Club, Equipment bought for 3G cafe in Keyingham, Diabetic screening with Lloyds Chemists, Farmers Bingo (Haven Arms), Tombola’s on market days (outside Hedon Post Office) Father Christmas including Sleigh around the local villages through out December (regardless of the weather), Bus Trip days out for older people of the communities, Bridlington Concert trips at christmas, Social Evenings at the British Legion, Biscuits delivered to the residential homes at christmas for the older people (who are unable to join us other times), Preston Show, Yorkshire Day, Decorate a tree Preston Church (in December), Take Part in the Parade on Remembrance Sunday, Doncaster Sports Days (for vulnerable people), Youth Projects in local schools, Peace Posters, Young Musician of the year contest, Young Ambassador, MIAB, Environment (Locally and Internationally), World Sight Days collect used glasses, Life Skills / Tacade, Community Projects, Started a LEO’S group (youth group for 11/16yr olds)
