Tacade
Tacade is a leading not for profit organisation, in the UK, working in the field of Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Education.
It was established in 1968 as the: TEACHERS ADVISORY COUNCIL on ALCOHOL and DRUG EDUCATION.
In the early 1980’s Lions MD 105 approached TACADE with a view to working together in developing curriculum material for secondary schools in the UK and following its success, in 1985 Lions Clubs International MD 105 signed a partnership agreement to work together with TACADE.
The aim of the agreement were for TACADE to produce materials and LCI MD 105 was to assist in the funding and the distribution of the materials.
TACADE have developed an outstanding reputation for its classroom materials that specifically promote the health and well being of children and young people, locally and nationally in terms of Drugs, Alcohol, Gambling, Homophobia, Sexual Health and Smoking.
Their latest publication, “LIFE CHANGES” is a practical document aimed at 3 – 11yr olds, who have experienced change and loss, such as family breakdown, the death of someone special in their lives.
The document covers issues like, the chid’s developmental understanding of loss change and breavement, how to answer, childrens questions about deaths, suicide, participation in funeals and rituals, the impact of disability within their lives, refugees, asylum seekers and living with a family member who has mental health issues.
