Brief History

Lions Clubs began in 1917, as the dream of a Chicago businessman who believed that local business clubs should expand their horizons, from purely professional concerns to the betterment of their communities and the world at large. Over the last 90 years the International Association of Lions Clubs has grown to become the largest service club organisation in the world with over 1.3 million members in more than 46,000 clubs in 202 countries.
